Game replayability is too low (six for me)

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but it takes a few games to figure this game out, and then once you do, you've already won.  Boring.

Star Drive 2 has the same problem, it takes a few games to figure it out, and then once you do, it's too easy.

I am still playing Star Trek: Birth of the Federation (st:botf) or just (botf).  It came out way WAY back in 1999, and even in the vanilla (non-mod) version, the replayability reaches into the THOUSANDS.  THOUSANDS.  There are mods too, but just in vanilla, you can replay THOUSANDS of times.  The game is now FREE to download, has been for many years, not to mention all the mods.  Google it, and play a better game, that's free.  Can I say that here?

I played GalCiv3 about a dozen times, yawn, hundreds of turns of upgrading, then some boring turns of non-interactive combat.  This is one of those games you play, while your attention is focused on watching a movie, or something else.  Too boring to play sober.

A toast to GalCiv3!  <cling><cling><gulp><gulp><click><click> <repeat>

hmm is there some kind of echo in these forums? because, since about 2 weeks I constantly read someone praising botf, even using the same phrases (it's free, google it etc pp). can't remember who the specific posters were, but in case it's all been you - what's the point of creating a thread with the sole intent to promote another game when all that's been said has been said already...?

Also, as an obsessed BOTF fan who has been trying to get a Star Trek mod off the ground exactly because BOTF is my favorite game of all time - saying BOTF is a better game is absolutely nuts. There are ENORMOUS problems with the AI (extremely warlike even when playing the Federation), micro-management, game crashes, bugs and tactical combat. Don't get me wrong, I still love that game and I think there are things that up the replayability like the option to start from different moments of technological development and different UIs for each race. But, those aren't enough to call it a better game, in my opinion.

I think calling BOTF fun and deeply flawed captures the general consensus
