Unable to play MP (Instant crash)

Hello. For some weird reason I'm unable to play a MP game with my friend - whenever we start a game (with whatever settings) once the game loads in whoever is the 'joining player' crashes after one second while the host is stuck in a frozen game (with AI never ending its turn). Is there any way to fix this issue?

 

EDIT:

We obviously tried verifying the game cache and reinstalling the game. Nothing seems to fix this problem.

Can you submit a ticket (https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/Tickets/Submit) with the save game attached so we can take a look?  Be sure to include what languages you are using, custom factions, and mods (if any).

Hey there.

I am the guy with who MJpoland wanted to play with.

The problem is that the game crashes right after loading/generating galaxy map etc.etc, I can see Race Intro page and it crashes 0.5 second later to the desktop,

So there is no way to "send" save file because game has never managed to create one, even after one of us gets CTD the other person can't force game to save. Its just stuck at the AI turn forever.

We have tried both hosting and that crash happened for both of us. By that I mean: Mjpoland was the host -> I join -> crash after game load, and it was the same stuff when I was trying to host, MJpoland got the same crash too.

We have no mods, no custom factions, no custom ships, all of these folders are clean. Even reinstall did not helped. A pure clean GalCiv3 running on official 1.31 english patch.

I have noted there is a opt-in with a 1.32 patch but I was unable to force my Steam to download it ( even steam flushing didn't worked )

I was kinda angry because the game I have bought does not work as it should be, and I really wanted to play with a friend. Just too bad we have wasted so much time in order to try get it fixed. Sadly nothing has worked out for us so far.

I hope there is a way to fix this problem?

If you aren't able to get a save game, can you submit a ticket with with as much information as possible so we can investigate.

I tried a number of times to get MP working last night, for us it wouldn't crash but it would peer disconnect every time.  We never got past the first turn.
