Some questions about the UI and gameplay

Hi all, thanks in advance.

1.  Where can I see how many strategic resources I have? (ie antimatter, promethium et al).  The only place I've seen is in the trade screen.  Isn't there somewhere I can look without having to trade?

 

2. Is there a way to cycle through shipyards in the shipyard screen?

 

3. Has the game been officially released, or is this still beta?

 

4. Is there a good guide to shipbuilding?

 

5. When I research a new tech for ship upgrades, do existing ships get them automatically, or do I have to upgrade them myself?

Not to my knowledge. Annoying, isn't it.

It was officially released a couple of months back.

No, but tbh it's not hard. Add lots of engines and guns.

If it's a % increase (like +15% range) then I believe they get it automatically. Not sure though.

Thanks for your responses.  Here's a screenshot of the top right of my screen -- I don't see them anywhere, can you point it out? Thanks!

Evidently, you don't have any resources.  They'd be displayed left of the money, pop, morale and turn icons at the top of the screen.  Unless there's some way of turning that off in the options menu.

Did you build any mining starbases close to open resources?

I actually have a ton of resources in this game.  So I don't know why it's not showing.  Thank you for your reply.  If you know of an option to turn it on please let me know.  I don't see one anywhere.

Googling the images of the main map, I see that the resources don't show up on lower resolutions.  Judging from how close your "Designer" tab is from the right side of the screen, you're on a lower res.  They probably won't show up on the main screen.

Actually it's a function of the UI size you choose.  My res is 2560x1440, so the 'normal' size is really small, and I'd bumped it to large.  This evidently makes the resources disappear.  So my choice is lowering my res or having tiny ui elements.  Grrrr.

That sounds like a bug to me.  You might want to report it in the support forum.  Hopefully, they'll fix it soon.
