Losing ships after a battle

I've noticed that I'm losing ships after a bttle even through the battle record showed I didn't loose any. I go through the battle and maybe lose 1 ship but afterwards when I go back to the map I lose a second ship or my whole fleet explodes even through I won.  I don't understand whats going on

There has been a report of 'misleading' battle outcomes, I've noticed when observing a detailed battle that a number of ships are destroyed but the end of battle summary is inaccurate, as far as ship icons, the collated damage points seem about right tho.  Have not yet lost a fleet to an inferior force tho.

You do need to monitor fleet strength as you may have several damaged ships from previous battles that then don't last too long in the next battle - I've also noted that the ship damage icons (bottom of battle screen) don't show accrued damage from previous battles.

I've had a few occasions where the recording has shown one side losing it's final ship, only for the other side to lose the fight - usually when there's only a few HP in it.

I've had multiple battles where I didn't lose any ships in combat and when it goes back to the main screen 1 or 2 ships completely disappear from my fleet and no they weren't damaged at all and I've had battles were I've wiped out the enemy fleet completely and again when going back to the main screen instead of their entire fleet going bang theres still 1 or 2 ships still sitting there. This needs sorting out as I've lost countless frigates, corvettes and even a few battleships to this bug.

I can one-up you all. It's happening to me frequently right now because I'm just passing the AI in tech now.

I just won a battle with 3 large (250hp) ships remaining. I was watching the battle, so there is no question about it. When I came out of the tactical map I seem to have been sucked into a wormhole that transported me to a parallel universe where I actually LOST the battle and the AI came out with two ships remaining.

Can not address the loss of your ships, but having enemy ships in hex after battle can actually be a second fleet that was in the hex. You attack only one fleet per combat not all ships in the hex. I believe in GalCivII you could have large numbers of enemy ships in single ship "fleets" in the same "hex".

Hey folks,

I'd like to chime in that today's patch (1.2.1) fixed an issue with the Battle Results Screen not correctly reporting the actual results.  If you continue to see problems after getting today's update, please let us know.

End of pshaw's quote

There still seem to be some problems with the battle results. The persisting problem is a bit different from the one discussed here, so I made a new bug report in the following thread:

Yep, still happening. Just watched a battle where 7 of my boats with about 1200 beam attack defeated 9 of the AI's with less than 300 kinetic attack between them - naturally, i lost a couple of boats (I've got tactical engines for shock and awe because at least *I* can appreciate the difference) and the AI was trashed. When I came out of the battles screen, my fleet blew up and the AI's remained with one boat left. I'm pretty sure it was the tactical screen which had it right all along, and not whatever shonky maths is being used on the strategic map.

There appears to be something wrong with space battles all together.

Not only am I seeing the same behavior described here (different result on map from what happened in the battle), but also, when watching a battle, all of my ships can be firing on one enemy ship, while a completely different enemy ship is the one to take and show the damage. Also, a ship might reach 0 hit points, but last through the entire battle, continuing to participate, and it seems they may have an effect on the outcome of the battle.

I just witnessed a battle wherein I greatly outclassed the enemy (I had 3 large ships with full hit points to his one medium ship with around 3/4 hit points. My ships had beams and missile defense. His ship had missiles and armor.  Therefore this should have been basically an insta-win as soon as I was in range.  Instead, what happened was his ship went to 0 hit points after a few shots, and then he proceeded to slowly destroy all three of my ships, one by one, after grinding through their defenses.

1.3 opt-in

On the 1.3 Opt-in as well. There have been times where I have seen 34 different results on the different screens. The battle shows one thing, the result summary another, and then when you go back to the map screen there is a completely different result... Other times 2 of the screens (battle viewer and map screen) will have similar if not the same results. The summary screen is usually wrong though. I don't use the battle viewer much because of all this.

We have another Battle Viewer fix coming up in the next patch.

I have seen this a few times as well.  It seems (to me) based on very few observations, that the strategic battle calculator doesn't always account for damage that the ships have when they enter battle, whereas the tactical calculator does

I can confirm that I am seeing this as well, and more than once. This is a really bad bug as it makes the tactical combat view broken as it does not seem to reflect what actually is happening.
