Need your saved games
Working on the AI this weekend to help the GalCiv team with v1.2.
But nothing helps faster than having saved games where the AI is already doing something "stupid". Please post saved games here ASAP.
Thanks!
Stardock will be closed for the week starting on Monday, June 29th and we will be returning on Monday, July 6th. We will be monitoring support tickets and forums during this time but expect delays in responses during this time.

Here is a game in turn 254. What bothered me was how little the AI expanded, how little it fielded war ships, and most of all, the fact that there are still pirate bases in AI territory at turn 254.
Have you considered opening up the AI for a modder/contractor task force?
Yeah. All of my games now are with the various AI mods. Talk to Naselus. He's done a good job modding.
Hi, I can provide some late game saves if you let me know where/how to upload ![]()
Basic issue with galaxy AI I have seen is that diplomacy is not used by the AI even above turn 300 and when it has the necessary research capacity. Never seen the AI form a single alliance in 5 play-troughs, each with 12-14 AI civs and over 300 turns. Each time all my scores went through the roof research wise and then all the other scores but the AI is always more busy with waring with other civs instead of ganging up against me. Not saying they should all gang up against the player but at least a few alliances should be prioritized by the AI if it wants to avoid certain defeat at that point. There is no way mathematically it can avoid being defeated even the player does not do anything else in the game
The most common method seems to be to get yourself one of the free upload sites. I use dropbox. Upload your save file there. Then use the upload service's share function to copy a link to your file and paste the link in a reply to this thread. The reply editor has a button that can add a link to any selected text. I have an example earlier in this thread.
Thanks for any help you can give the Frogboy. I am mildly surprised there hasn't been more response to this request.
Dropbox it is then! Please find my two Thalan late-games below:

Note that all CIVs are quite content living in the shadow of the player and warring each other with minimal success. Admittedly I have built a lot of diplomacy boosting buildings but if the AI wants to win it cannot ignore such huge advantage (it is basically insta-win if the player goes for tech and avoids major diplomacy penalties)
I understand it is hard to find the right balance so that the user is not always drawn into an all-out war (it is fun to play peacefully) but the AI could at least try to build alliances and not wasting time and money on fighting each other when they are clearly out-teched (and otherwise out-performed in every aspect)
Hope the saved-games help a bit
Can someone tell me what the option "Collect Gameplay Data" exactly does (might be worth a tooltip)?
It seems to me I read about this in connection to the AI development a while ago - maybe this might be even better then save-games?
Something to note for the AI: It seems pirate ships attack the drones of planets which are automatically replenished due to a race specialty.
This might not be intentional as it serves little purpose. Doesn't really seem to hurt the player and makes the game more easy as it lures away pirate ships from constructions, freighters and the like
Shall I provide a save game for this as well?
I do not believe the AI Races are saved in the game play data.
Hi Frogboy!
Please find a saved game below showcasing some AI anomaly with transports:

On the top of the map Irridians are in war with the Altarians. As an avid supporter of the Irridians I have sent a few fleets to clear the way for their troops to the nearest Altarian planet. After having destroyed all enemy ships, bases and having waited for several turns now my ally is still not invading although it has several fleets containing transports read to go just a few clicks away
Update: After reload of the save game the Irridians did send one of the fleets with transports to the planet but sadly it was the one with the speed of 2 moves per turn. Considering that the target is undefended, no enemy in sight but my allied fleets and that they had another transport fleet with 7 or so speed this was strange. Did take quite a while till they got there. I now question if the AI makes better decisions when the game is loaded. Maybe it calculates its tactics from the beginning? If I reload frequently the AI plays better?
I have the same thing. cleaning up Earth Sovereignty so the Core Network can invade.
CN only has 2 planets and 3 SS and is doing nothing, not even building transports so looks like I am going to have to take the worlds.
