Bugs

Hi! I don't know if there is a bug base where I could add/read the issues in GalCiv III ?

I played a lot of multiplayer games with a friend and here are some of the things we noticed:

Bugs (or what I think are bugs) :

  1. Ordering to destroy a planet would often cause a crash.
  2. When one player (not the host) leave a multiplayer game during his/her turn, the turn sometime get stuck to that player.
  3. In some game, when one player left during his/her turn, the other player had to exit the game instead of returning to main menu.
  4. We never finished a game since it randomly crash every single time (randomly meaning we didn't notice what may cause it that time).
  5. The shipyard anchoring sound is so loud that it almost killed me.
  6. Restoring a multiplayer game is sometime broken: all planets priorities reset to default and my custom race picture didn't load (it was blank).
  7. Once the chat is open, there is no way that we found to close/hide it
  8. The mini-map, when playing in the same team, is centered in the middle of the team influence zone... if both are at one corner of the galaxy, the mini-map always focus at the middle of nothing, seeing nothing until our influence grow and the middle is something
  9. After loading a game, all Rally Points didn't render. they where available just not rendered.
  10. The host saw the battles with the pirates, but not me, it didn't have any warnings or results.

Nice to have:

please,

  1. Add an option like : do not auto-update improvements for all my civ. I don't like it when it does that!
  2. Add an in-game contextual help or an in-game wiki (not just a link to the wiki). This game has so much information and I find it so useful in civ...
  3. The mini-map is driving me crazy... please, allow me to disable the auto-center... I need to de-zoom it every turn!
  4. In the timeline, if two players choose the same colors, there is no way to know which is which.
  5. Let me filter my list of ships... add a tab [fleets] and show the list of fleets there. It would be useful in late game.
  6. Add a way to highlight where a ship can go in 0 turns. I can use the ctrl key to know right, except if the destination is an object

Debug Message:  PlaceShipOnMap. tileX 130 tileY 75

Who is player id = -1 ... If I remove the ships prior to destroy the planet, nothing is added in the log after the crash

P.S : If my influence includes the planet, it won't crash...

Thank you for all the feedback! :)

Do you have any save files or dump files that could be sent to support in reference to these issues?

"Ordering to destroy a planet would often cause a crash."

"When one player (not the host) leave a multiplayer game during his/her turn, the turn sometime get stuck to that player."

"We never finished a game since it randomly crash every single time (randomly meaning we didn't notice what may cause it that time)."

"Restoring a multiplayer game is sometime broken: all planets priorities reset to default and my custom race picture didn't load (it was blank)."

"After loading a game, all Rally Points didn't render. they where available just not rendered."

"The host saw the battles with the pirates, but not me, it didn't have any warnings or results."

 On the list for 1.2

"Restoring a multiplayer game is sometime broken: all planets priorities reset to default and my custom race picture didn't load (it was blank)."(still would love the save file that wasn't working.)

"The shipyard anchoring sound is so loud that it almost killed me."

"The mini-map is driving me crazy... please, allow me to disable the auto-center... I need to de-zoom it every turn!"

 Good Point

"Once the chat is open, there is no way that we found to close/hide it"
