I do see a icon with Starfaring in the research tree ..what does this mean ?
Also no idea what i can build en when for a starport..it like a sandbox for me
Can i see what to build in the research tree for a startport ?
They got rid of the starports on planets you have to build a orbital (shipyard) instead mate 
Can not give a meaning to this answer seems to me cryptical ..please elaborate.
Ok , perhaps in GC2 is was the case that the starport was on the planet itself..now it is space
Well i get a better idea of where the 4 research fields are standing for ..the starfare symbol is for a starport..so i can see the starport ..building /development
Starports do not exist in Galactic Civilizations 3.
You build shipyards in space now.
It seems like you are exploring the four branches of the tech tree. One of them is named "Engineering" and will let you build various things for your ships. You are on the right track.
I don't know how to do links within the forum, but at the top level is a pinned post named "Helpful Links", There is a manual there. Also, the manual is available in the lower left corner of the game's Start screen. It should help you with many of your questions. Have fun!
