[1.1] Outreach III [free pop on newly colonized planets] nerfed in 1.1 (Good :))

Scanned some of the posts and haven't seen this mentioned yet.  If this is a dupe topic, apologies. :)

Outreach III (Abundant) which USED to give a +5 bonus to newly colonized planets has been nerfed, and nerfed hard.

Instead of giving a +5 to all new colonies, it now gives a +2.  First of all:  GOOD

While I liked it as a player, it really was waaaaaaaaaaaaay overpowered.  Like silly OPed.  But it also makes sense to nerf it since it seemed to be a relic of the older colony module system.  In early betas, base colony ships could be loaded with 5 pop maximum, instead of the current 3.  So it kinda made sense to allow people to get a "free" colony module via that trait.

But when the colony ship was hit with the Nerf Bat (Beta 4, I think), this wasn't nerfed with it.

So thumbs up for the long over due nerfage.

Even if some will be disappointed with the change. :p

I think this happened in 1.01 not 1.1

Still can get free population by upgrading a constructor to a colony ship and land it directly on the planet without loading any people on the colony ship.

Outreach is still overpowered on larger sized maps abundant/abundant.  I'd know.   :D

I disagree.  I play a similar rush strategy as you, much to my personal embarrassment.  :)  The extra 2 pop per planet is very very nice, but it is not going to win the game for me.  It does have a good synergy effect with a colony rush, though.  That part is interesting.  Imagine when the AI gets a hold on it and learns how to use it.  I bet people will complain about that.  "Why do expansionist factions expand so fast?  Is that fair?"  ;)
