Research Cloisters -> Quantum Research -> Ascension Gate not upgrading

I've maxed out all research and yet still found myself not being able to Ascend to a Tech Victory

I noticed I actually had Research Cloisters- somehow - on multiple planets - so when back and razed them, rebuilt on one. It auto-upgraded to Quantum but now I can't see how to go the last step.

An Ascension Gate is not an upgrade to any previous improvement, its a building of its own.  You just find a spot (you'll probably want a high-production world) and build it.

Turns out there was a Class I Operator Error also (I missed one of the last 3 techs by accident) OK I'm an idiot

Note I picked up the idea of an upgrade from an earlier forum thread; should have remembered from last game when I built it from the list!

Also, put production on that world at 100%, and everywhere in the empire economy at 100 %, and rush it as soon as possible. AI once ascended a turn or two(there was no notification :( ) before me but after reloading and rushing it I was able to win xD
