[1.03X] [Bug?] Ship components can have BELOW ZERO maintenance costs!?

Salesman:  "Hey buddy, do I have a great deal for you!  I'd like to lease you this fancy new Field Detector sensor for your ship!"

Ship owner:  "Ummm ... not sure ... budgets are kinda tight ... but at the same time, them pirates keep lurking and hitting my support ships, so ... I am kinda in the market.  Still, I'm worried about cost ... how much is the maintenance on this here sensor?"

Salesman:  "Negative zero point three."

Ship owner:  *bewildered*  "Did you say ...... negative ....... as in ..."

Salesman:  "Yes, negative!  We send you a check every week, instead of you sending one to us.  We think this'll be fantastic for our sales!"

Ship owner:  "I definitely think it would .... but I can't figure out how you make a profit on that ..."

Salesman:  "It's a secret to everybody."

Did you achieve this by stacking maintenance reduction technologies/events/resources, or does it have a negative upkeep even without those? Obviously it's broken either way (maintenance should not go below zero), but there may be different causes.

Also, did you check if it's just a display issue vs. actually working that way (i.e. did you build some and see if maintenance goes down?).

Its stacked.  I photoshopped in a mouseover of ship maintenance showing all effects.  I picked a tree for my custom race that includes "Living Ships" precursor tech that claims to make all ship maintenance 'free' -- but of course by 'free' they mean they reduce it 100%.  This is, I think, the reason it goes below zero -- because even small maintenance discounts such as the regular ones you get from enhancement techs (which I didn't choose to research myself, but did acquire via tech trades) take the 100% discount to a more-than-100% discount, meaning instead of paying nothing, I actually get paid to install this on my ships. :P  Yeah I really don't think this was intended.
