Joining Borders Bonus?

Hi all!  Does joining the borders of two colony worlds have any bonus or mean anything?  I know (or think rather) the boarders grow based on influence but wasn't sure if there was any bonuses for having the borders joined for different worlds.

Thanks!

Interesting idea, should give some sort of a logistics bonus. where you zone of control is so strong you can keep all of your stuff linked. Maybe the longest stretch of planets in a group would give you an equal number of extra logistics bonus. When a planet is lost or cut off then you'd lose that logistics bonus plus any other logistics bonuses which were linked to that planet and not to the rest of the largest group of core concentrated worlds in your empire. Another thing that would encourage smart growth "taller" empires as they keep saying.

your ZoC doesnt increase past the borders of your Planet,

what you see on the map is your ZoI (Zone of Influence)

I dont think it makes much sense to get or lose logistics because of Influence

Maybe that should change. Why do we get reports of ships in our zone if everything is international waters except for the starbase, shipyard, and planet? Maybe we need to make hundreds of really cheap ships that can blockade borders. I can't imagine what a nite mare that would be to update their locations as the influence borders shift like sands on the ocean.

i was doing that in one game i built a double row of military starbases and then a line of top of the line ships stretching from one side of the map to the other it wasen't so bad but it took a while my biggest issue was trying to keep other race's ships from going around the edges while i was building my line

Thanks for all responses!  I mainly wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on any bonuses by spreading out.  I do agree with the above poster regarding some kind of potential bonus to benefit those who want to build "tall" empires.

Thanks!
