The Yor Bop Strategy

Very simple: 

Yor is overpowered right now, right? They also build up their worlds a lot.  And the AI doesn't defend their planets in the early game.  If you can hit them before turn 50 on a huge map, they're pretty much defenseless.  

So... get Malevolence lvl 3: 5 free transports ASAP (after the 3 constructor into colony ship trick).  

The AI won't react if you put TRANSPORT ships next to their planets.

Then Bop the Yor and take 5 of their best colonies in 1 turn, and especially the ones near their shipyards.  In the meantime pick up +5 approval from conquering worlds.  

Did this on Godlike, Huge.  Now I'm #1.  Screenshots on my Steam account.  

By the way, kudos to Frogboy for programming the Yor correctly (their production ability is insane if you don't bop them early enough).  Now he's got to fix the problem that the Yor is TOO powerful later on.   :D :D :D :D

In the meantime, until he fixes that, do the Yor Bop strat!

This only works on abundant/abundant/abundant maps, since there aren't enough planets to quickly get that many ideology points on default settings.

You should preface all of your posts with "I only play on Immense abundant/abundant/abundant maps with no pirates." That way it will be obvious what types of games you've tailored your strategies to.

Um... how is that strategy related to Yor?

Can you not use it against any other and with any other race for the same result?

Also, you called it "Yor strategy" but then talk about it as if it is an ANTI-Yor strategy. See the difference here?

I mean it, really, I was expecting to see some synthetic-based strategysing here, and all I see is a cheesy way to exploit an AI's inability to react to player's actions which has nothing to do with Yor at all. What a let-down....

EDIT:

And that's another reason why I think that allowing in-game border-ignorance is a bad call. Gees, what were designers thinking there? Either teach the AI to deal with it properly or don't let that happen at all. It's an MP game. Sure, you can choose not to cheese in single, but in MP that's not just your choice to make so it's a freaking big deal.

The title is called "The Yor Bop" strategy. 

Otherwise known as a strategy for Bopping the Yor.  Get it?  Of course you can use it to Bop other things BESIDES the Yor, but the Yor is currently the biggest threat which is why they deserve the most bopping.  

I thought the title was pretty obvious to understand, but apparently I was wrong.  

By the way, I also made this thread to allow people to gripe about "tolerance of border" issues. THAT worked.

"Amen brother." But you may want to make a focused topic for that. I mean, AI is NOT the only reason why it is a bad idea. That issue is beeping huge.

It touches sensors, diplomacy, culture and that's just the first 3 things that popped up in my head. AI and warfare would be the two more obvious things to add. But I should stop, I don't feel like making more walls of text ATM.
