Research Dead End

I'm playing on an insane sized map with only the research victory condition available and unlimited turns. I'm trying to get the ideology achievements (which are too difficult to get IMHO). The problem is that I've researched every tech and the game is not letting me finish my next turn. It keeps asking me to select new research but, because everything is already researched, I cannot select anything. It seems like this is something that should've been noticed already but I can't see any way to continue. Is there any way to continue my game? If not, I'd say that the ideology achievements are not attainable without seriously avoiding research from the start.

What race are you playing as?  Are you using the tech tree view or the default list view?

I'm playing as the Yor. I've tried both tech trees and neither have anything listed under any of the categories. I think that I really have researched everything. It's around 500 turns in and I've been expanding constantly since the start. I've been getting a tech each turn for a log time. I put off the ascension tech until last and as soon as I got that I can't go further.

I would suggest to load an autosave and set research to 0 empire-wide. Also scrap research buildings etc.

In one game I was also nearing the end and only needed a couple of useless techs. I therefore decided to halt research e.g. setting research to 0, scrapping/destroying buildings etc.

I do not know what to do about the benevolent skill, which gives research bonus to star bases except scraping them, but I guess you do not want to do that. :)

As an aside, you can research all the technologies without triggering the technology victory as long as you don't build the Ascension Gate. You can also just disable *all* victory conditions.  I don't think that will interfere with getting the ideology achievements.

I was told you can go to the debug mode, *first press ~ , then type "turn" and it will advance the turn.   Down side is that using debug invalidates the metaverse score though.

I heard from someone that they are working on this but have not heard an official answer yet from stardock.

Its the only thing keeping me from starting a insane map and ofcourse I still got 70 races to build/download yet.   :D

I had a similar problem. I checked each and every tech and eventually fund a specialization (one of those 1 out of 3 choices) that i skipped by getting a more advanced tech from trade.
