Voice chat? Change servo colors?

First off, awesome and amazing game! I'm very much looking forward to the full version. That being said, I have a couple of questions on potential future features.

 

1) Will we ever be able to customize servo colors? I'd love to be able to customize the colors of my servo, along with the parts. There's nothing better than seeing 3 pink servo's bearing down on your base :)

2) Will you ever be able to trade parts? I'd like to be able to trade with friends, and vise versa. I think it would be a neat concept :)

Servo colors seem to be related to the material/quality of the part. Though, it would be nice have the ability to have the weapon hands match the torso color.

Yes, right now the colors are tied to the part (with the idea that we'd do lots of variants of the parts so that you could get the look you wanted). We are discussing a skin/paint system, too. TBD on whether or not we do that.

Part trading is something we've got on the wishlist. It comes up a lot, so it's clearly something folks want. We're just not sure we can get to it (and do it right) soon enough.

Neat! I would personally like to change the color of my servo parts manually (at some cost, of course!), but the multiple variants would be awesome, too! It would work VERY well with a trading system. Example: I have green parts for my red servo, and my buddy has red parts for his green servo. Perfect trading opportunity :)

 

Good to hear about part trading! That wasn't originally my idea.. it was a friends. After he had mentioned it, I had started thinking about it a bit more. Though one problem I see could be smurfing. Example: Let's say I'm a higher level and have some of the best parts in the game. I create/buy a new account and give my lower account all the awesome super-powerful parts. I would think that the parts would be tied to certain levels or something. I wouldn't want to discourage new players being matched against another similar-ranked player.... with super-powerful parts. I know whenever I get matched against a higher-player on lower ranks in other games, it can get pretty discouraging.

Preventing smurfing would probably be a simple matter of having parts require a certain dropship level. That'd be my guess, anyways.
