Hello
I was trying to buy starship but the option is greyed out. What condition need to be in place to buy starship instead of waiting for building it ?

Do you have the money? And if so is the shipyard open and not been shutdown. Also guessing at least one planet needs to be assigned to it.
Place your cursor over the buy button and it should tell you what it costs and how much money you have. If its too expansive, the button greys out.
Sounds like you are new to the game, no worries, we all were at one point. Check out the WIKI which gives a LOT of info not in the manual. Lots of info can be found in the forums via searching, but the WIKI has quite a bit in one simple location.
