Finding planets, miners, and other things I'm trying to figure out in III

I reinstalled GCII today to figure out a few things I can't figure out in III.

1. In Gal Civ II, the window where you could see a list of your planets, you can also select foreign planets and unowned ones as well. You can also view ships this way. In fact, you can search based on planet name! In III, I see where All is highlighted blue at the top of the planet listing, but is there a way to search for unowned or foreign planets?

2. There were miners in II! Are they in III?

3. Espionage was in II! I know it is slated to return in III. I would love to see some sort of character system - I'm not sure if this is outside of Stardock's wishes.

4. Galactopedia - I know this was fan made for II but it would really be helpful in III.

To answer #2, mining starbases mine nearby special resources.  Nothing currently mines asteroids.

1) Forthcoming. It's a frequently requested feature.

2) No asteroid miners. There are plans on how to utilize asteroids in future updates or expansions however.

3) No espionage yet, but planned for future expansion.

Leiavoia,

Thanks for your reply. I do know about the Wiki, however the level of detail there is lacking. I appreciate fan made contributions, but I had hoped Stardock would have seen the fan input from GCII and included that somehow in III.

I think that's one of the problems. The wiki isn't that transparent for people. Even Google searches for III still show the II wiki... super frustrating. Mayhaps an ingame pointer? Wikis are best when the contributor count explodes. Personally I'd prefer a detailed guide made by someone locked in a closet-sized office for a few months at Stardock, failing that point everyone to the wiki so then those special snowflakes that edit 15,000 pages in a month come out to play.

Edit- Also, someone savvy with search engine algorithms should really push the III wiki to the top. I assume this is possible with no understanding of the SEO structures behind it.
