Deleted saves not deleting

When I was testing deleting posts, I found that whenever I logged out of the game then logged back in, all of the games I deleted previously were still there.

I'm finding this too. Saves I haven't used for weeks are suddenly back in the menu every time I open the game again.

It's also doing it for custom races, so I have annoying placeholder races all over the list I delete every time I start a game.

I think the problem lies in steam cloud it saves your games and if they arent on your machine it restores them

Strangely the game doesn't seem to have Steam cloud support on save games... I checked everywhere, including the usual Updates tab on the properties.... It's getting really annoying, any file created around the region of late April just keep coming back into the game, even things I deleted for the first time today.

It even does it for things in myGames/GalCiv 3... Even if I delete something I want gone with shift-delete they just come back the next time the game opens.

It was doing the same thing for me. I went into my Steam options and unchecked use steam cloud synchronization. I did that fired up my GCIII and happily deleted ALL my old saves! Dead.gone...free!

Yes, we are working with Valve on why it is still syncing files even though we have disabled it for the game. Disabling steam cloud in your steam client entirely has fixed it for customers in the meantime.

Yeah it works perfectly... Pretty awesome Derek responded xP

It's weird though, Steam just really jumps at the chance to 'help' the player, even when the settings on the game itself had no Cloud options. Thanks guys! (And probably from the real OP when he gets here)

Thanks Larsnenex!  I turned off that setting and the save games have gone away.  Hopefully the delete feature will be fixed soon so I can turn it back on for my other games, but in the mean time, I'll leave it off.

Thanks to all of you for replying to this.  I know it's mostly cosmetic as far as the save/load file is concerned, but hey, we're to beta test and I am trying to test some of the minor functionalities of the game that can be looked over while testing actual game play.  Thanks again to all of you.

I wonder if it has something to do with Steam interacting with Windows 10.   I have three machines with Steam installed, and Gal Civ III installed, one on Windows 7, one on Windows 8.1, one on Windows 10 Preview.  In addition, I have two other machines with Steam installed, but without Gal Civ III.

The dates of the files that keep replicating are from 4/28 to 5/12, if that helps nail down the issue.

Thanks for all the responses here, helps to know I'm not nuts.
