Bug with Yor - unable to construct Assembly line

Hi,

No other post with this bug, wich occurs by me on 1.0 and 1.01. No one played the Yor this days, or is it only by me ? I also tried to remove my "Documents\Games\GalCivII" directory, no more success.

The Yors are unable to construct Assembly lines, Fast Assembly, etc.

I tried twice, my colonies still with the start number of population, no growing. I tried to win the game with the starting 10 population, but was quiet difficult ;)

Thanks for help :)

Is it a custom race your using? Any custom race that uses the synthetic trait must also have the yor tech tree.

They do work correctly for me (and I suspect 00zim00 is correct on the cause).

Nope, standard race, standard game.

When you say that you are "unable to construct Assembly lines" Do u mean its not showing up on the list at all. Or are you attempting to place the assembly lines as if they are buildings? Those items are not buildings, they are like a research project or culture festival where they will just build in the queue and when complete you get the population automatically at the end.

Hehe that's ok, your not stupid :p seen some other posts asking the same thing. Maybe they need to have it easier to understand in the tool tip or something :)

I think the name needs to be changed assembly sounds to much like manufacturing

as in the meanings are similar.

I am finding the same issue.

ALL evolutions of the 'Assembly' structure appear in the build list (instead of just the base one which automatically improves later).

When selecting an empty tile, then selecting any of the 'Assembly' structures, it jumps back to the capital like it would if the planet were full. When selecting the tile again, the shadow does not appear on the tile like a normal structure, and when you attempt to click 'build' (or double click) it jumps back to the capital, not building the structure.

Heres some screenies.

1) normal looking plot, normal structure selected, normal shadow:

2) Hover over the Assembly structure (in this case, just the base one as I still say the others shouldn't be there):

3) select the Assembly structure, jumps back to the capital:

4) select the tile again - no shadow:

5) click build - jumps back to the capital (also note the entire line of Assembly structures):

kinsoa, is this what yor seeing? (get it? yor?)

You need to re-read reply #4 above... the various assembly options are not buildings / structures, they are projects and do not occupy a planet tile. All 4 should appear in the list once you have researched them, to allow you to control pop growth. Just double click whichever one you want to add it to the build queue and grow pop by 2,4,6,8 accordingly.

You have obviously got this to work previously, as your pop on that planet is 24 (unless you are playing a custom race that isn't synthetic, of course).

Ah, that makes sense I guess. Yeah I wasnt really sure what that meant in that its like a research project. I told it to build a ton of them on a few planets to see what would happen, other planets are stuck on a population of like 2.5 or something awful. I'm guessing that means Yor can't make use of any population related bonuses...

End of Smak_Daddy's quote

Yep, which is both good and bad. Good as in you can ignore any bad pop bonuses, like racial traits for custom synthetic races. Bad as in you don't get auto growth either.

Well i noticed the power matrix gets bonuses from pop tiles as its a pop building, strange I know. I guess cos its like a yor mainframe that helps regulate the population :p

Also in regards to the naming convention. All they have to do is put the world "project" at the end and people wont get as confused. EG. Assembly Project, Fast Assemble Project. Tho i guess you will then have people who are confused that it has a time limit and dosnt last forever like the other projects hehe xD cant win!
