Campaign was not part of the Beta process. They did the same thing with Elemental and I have never understood why Stardock thinks it's a good idea. Their internal QA has proven consistently incapable of picking up spelling errors, grammar mistakes, and other text-based bugs. Not knocking them, there's a ton of text in this game. Which is why having thousands of fans playing through the game is important.

As far as, "where did that ship come from?" etc, they know all the answers to you questions, they just choose not to tell you. There's a ton of GalCiv lore that Brad (Frogboy) has generated over the years, for whatever reason (lack of spell checking?) they withhold that lore almost entirely from the game.

I will note that to the comment on they never release the campaign in beta, not many companies do. Mainly because the campaign story is important and they don't want to give out spoilers.

However I fully agree the campaign should be longer. I also think the cutscenes of the game don't match the campaign. The into shows the Thalian talking to a human and then shows the pocket universe fleet coming in and freeing an arcean world. I would like to see the first mission start with a liberated planet to tie into that cut scene better.

Also, that mission starts showing a human being tortured. Is that human supposed to be us, the commander? The human who is then talking to the Thalian? I feel this cutscene explains that earth will not roll over, and I appreciate that, but it has nothing to do with the mission currently and needs better tie ins.

My last complaint would be the cinematic. I feel they are all still compressed movie because they are so pixelated and blurred in the corners of all the scenes. I think the issue is they never updated the release to have the full quality renders and they are still using the low disk space beta cinematic. either way, they should be able to easily solve this.

I will echo some of the sentiment here.  Just like in various parts of the game, there are still many typos and grammatical errors that show up.  The campaign is no different.  It is tedious work.  But someone needs to go through all text with a fine tooth comb.  

As for the story itself.... I also believe that the story lacks depth and explanation.   There was a real opportunity for a rich storyline.  Even if the story is kind of explained in the video... it really doesn't say how they came to such a powerful device/ship.  What were they doing there?  They just sort of show up with a fancy weapon and start their mission.  The way the story unfolds after the great dramatic promise of the intro/trailer... it just fizzles at the end.  Too many holes with too much I want to know.

Brad, I didnt' meant imply that no one does.  Rather, things have been missed here and there. It is a ton of text to go through.  And in Beta you had the benefit of some testers who would make sure they note and submit errors.  We couldn't do that with the campaign, of course.  

Anyway, I'll admit that at times, I spot a type and am too lazy to write it down or submit it.
