Quoting Rhonin_the_wizard,
I prefer the campaign of III to the others, it's less frustrating and the missions feel more important.
I can agree with this, the campaign feels much more important and planned than just a pre-generated galaxy scenario from the previous editions.
I still don't remember any previous campaign being less than 5 missions. I just appreciate a good story and because the galciv3 campaign is that much better it really makes you wish there was more than 3 missions.
Don't get me wrong, I'm far from hating the game for only having 3 missions. Hence the 'slightly' disappointed title. I know the sandbox part is still there and is still very good.
As for crashes, I never crashed pre-release, then crashed every 20mins on 1.0 and now with the new patch I don't crash again. I have faith that they'll continue to upgrade and support the game.
My only real complaint is starbase hp. I honestly feel that for every module you add you should get more hp. If for no other reason than you're adding that much more metal to shoot through. It just seems entirely silly to throw 20 constructors into a starbase and the hp is still only 200. It's a complete joke and has no way of competing with fleets.
