question on galaxy setup

I have a question on the galaxy setup. Is the number of habitable planets dependent or independent of the value for the number of overall planets?

By this i mean, if i choose abundant for planets and occasional for habitable planets, will i see more habitable planets than if i choose common for planets and occasional for habitable planets?

From what I understand is this.

Abundant Stars means the galaxy is going to be at the maximum of stars.

Abundant Planets means that of the stars available most of those stars are going to have many planets associated with them.

Abundant Habitable Planets means that of the planets available in the galaxy many are going to be habitable.

Abundant Extreme Planets means that of the available habitable planets many are going to be extreme.

From messing around with some of this and watching the twitch stream Brad was on 5/13 it goes something like this

Number of stars effect the number of planets

The number of planets effects the number of habitable and extreme worlds

The XML shows factors to apply be each of these things.

So you can create a new game and go into the debug console (~) and type "fow" with no quotes. Make a note of the galaxy, then exit, change the parameters and start a new game and open the fog again to see the differences.

Stars scale to the map size as well from the looks of it, which makes sense.

Hope this helps.
