GC3 Multiplayer - Connect to host IP

Hello, I am a new user here, and having trouble with using Multiplayer in GC3. I scanned the forums and found a post that was semi-relevant to my problem HERE, but I need to ask some followup questions.

I play a number of games from Canada with a group of friends who live in Europe. In GC3 I cannot see any of their hosted sessions in my Multiplayer Available Games list, and similarly none of them can see mine. We assume that this is because the game is searching for local sessions to join, and omitting sessions that ping beyond a certain range.

We would like to know if there is another way for us to play together in GC3. Ideally, we would like to be able to connect to each others sessions directly with an IP address. Is there a way to do this currently, or are there any plans for this feature in future updates? If so, is there an ETA?

Thanks!

I am experiencing the same issues mentioned above. There was some discussion on the Steam forums that it could be a mismatch of files. If you verify the integrity of GC 3 in steam, there is always 2 files that it has to be fixed. This sometimes solved the problem, but other times i still cant see the host and vice versa.

Now failed again on custom ships.  Supposedly none of the people in my lobby had them but it still did.

Hello, I wanted to comment again to note that this post seems to have wandered off-topic. The issue that I reported has nothing to do with custom ships or custom factions. The issue that I have is that I am unable to play with or locate hosted sessions created by my European friends.

I would like to re-iterate that the reason for this post was to inquire about connecting to multiplayer sessions with a host IP.

Thanks!
