Campaign AI: passive so far

Is it just me or is it just the level I am playing on (Normal)?

But in scenario 1, the Drengin are almost entirely passive. Once you have cleared out their first two fleets, they don't attack you anymore but just sit back on their planets and bases, so you unmolested and easily gain resources and colonies and build up/rebuild your massive fleet and simply stomp their remaining fleets one by one.

They don't attack your starbases. They don't attempt to attack your colonies. They don't send fleets to slow you down. They just sit there passively until you have quietly build up overwhelming force. It basically turns into a end-turn rapid click-fest until you have the force you need.

Does this also happen on the harder difficulty levels?

Enjoying the campaign so far, but a bit disappointed in the resistance the Drengin are putting up.

Its the first level on the campaign, im guessing they are made to not be hard on the first level to stop rage quits for new players :P ... also normal isnt that hard in general anyway..
that being said, the AI is always being updated so things will get harder and smarter in general :)

try a random map with AIs and they will be harder :)

First episode I didn't loose a single ship...

Destroyed the first fleets and took over the Thalan planet on which I spammed some factories and a factory capital. Built a large sensor boat that revealed the whole map then just sent my fleet to destroy all Drengin ships, bases. Built three colony ships and four transport ships and invaded the two planets.

It was all over in a very short time frame... ;)

I found creating additional military ships to be a complete waste. I just took out all their fleets, starbases, and defended planets with the initial fleet, then sent over some transports.

I believe this is what was intended. The Drengin ships were very powerful compared to anything I could produce. I'd have to go through the entire research tree for weapons, shields, and hull size, plus some prototype weapons, just to make a huge ship that was on par with the power of one of the pre-allocated medium ships. I hope that is not a trend that continues in the rest of the campaign, because I don't want to have to spam tons of maxed out ships with maxed out logistics in order to win battles.

thats odd i noticed if i take over the first planet and sit on it the drengin are passive but if i build a star base to collect resources they become relentless and will send wave after wave of ships to obliterate it, most fights my fleet takes no damage but every couple of fleets will have a hefty amount of fire power and take out 1-2 of my weaker ships. And it makes building additional ships pointless cause anything you can build is useless

Thanks guys, I will see if the next scenario is harder.
