You have 4 areas you can research. You have a huge screen, and your research selections do not take up much of the screen.
Instead of showing just one area, why not show all research options in all 4 areas? Or if the research choices eventually overfill your screen, scroll up/down, and selecting one of 4 areas centers that area at the top of your screen.
