Build Priority

Just curious, why is it upgrading tiles are prioritized over adding new ones , which seems to be more efficient?

Or am I just doing it wrong?

If I had my choice, upgrading would be something that would wait until the current projects are completed, then you upgrade- might make building up your worlds quicker.

Upgrades are added to the queue like anything else. If you queue up multiple factories, the game will build them one at a time before moving onto the upgrades.
