Beta 6 .97.5 Steam "Built From Nothing" achievement doesn't work

I just won a game with a custom faction and did not get the "Built From Nothing" achievement, which is for a win with a custom faction.  I have gotten 4 other achievements, so it might just be a problem with this one.

Did you already have it or did you use a Console command at some point?

was the race made with the ingame race editor or with a mod?

The race was made with the ingame editor with .97.5.  The only thing non-vanilla about it was that I used race leader portraits and a race icon that had been uploaded here.

I used no console commands.

Tested and verified that it is working here.

On .97.5?  If so, then why didn't it work for me?  Was it the leader portrait/race icon that wasn't part of the vanilla game?  Or the fact that I got the cultural achievement on the same game?

I used the latest opt-in build to test and verify that it works.

It works FOR YOU.  I learned early in my thirty seven years of developing software that "It works here" is not the end of diagnosing a problem, it's a point of reference where comparisons of the differences in the environments can lead to a discovery of the real problem.  Hence my asking if using a different leader portrait/race icon could cause it.

I am, I think, the second person to report this; the first was mentioned in a post with multiple other points and a title not referencing this problem, hence I can't find it.

Anyway, if you would like to examine the custom race I used to see if anything was done that could have caused a problem, I submitted a save from that game for a different problem early today, in ticket #RME-280-14194.

The same thing happened to me, but they gave me credit for a Terran win instead of a custom faction. The custom faction was created in game and the only thing Terran about it was the tech tree. I chose the Terran tree instead of a generic tree, if that could be the reason.

I haven't bothered with it because it doesn't matter that much. It was just a small map influence victory testing my custom races and the new influence balancing. I think my score was 4, so it was no big deal at all.

I was also using the Terran tech tree, but did not get credit for a Terran win.  I don't care about not getting the achievement now, I'm sure I'll pick it up later.  My concern is that I'm trying to be a good beta tester and find bugs.  As a fan of Stardock's, I don't want people buying this game next Thursday and running into a bug that's already been discovered.  If Derek takes it seriously I'll be satisfied.
