@Stardock question about dump files

Every time i crash i 2 bumps are created at the exact same time and different file names e.g. from my latest:

GalCiv30_95-2015-05-05T11-01-41-269.zip

GalCiv30_95-2015-05-05T11-01-51-197.zip

Some times one of the ZIPs is corrupt.  but both unzipped *.dmp files look ok

QUESTIONS

1) why 2 dumps/crash (just the nerd in me)

2) I assume you want both

3) it one of the zips is corrupt, should i zip its corresponding *.dmp and send it

Thanks

Im not sure the answer to your question a0152570, but on this subject, if the devs are reading this and planing to respond. or anyone else who might know.

I get a crash when I start a battle after I load a save file, example, im playing the game, have a turn then for whatever reason decide to load the save from the turn before or just before I made a mistake. Attempt to attack, in this case a pirate base, and the game crashes. A reset of the game lets me load the game and attack fine.

When this happens a popup window comes up on my start bar saying "my AMD display driver has stopped working but has recovered." then the game closes after awhile or I have to force close it.

But it seems that, for whatever reason If the game crashes from a display driver error then no dump file is made.

And another odd thing. the Stardock support tool is only garbing my files for my GalCiv 2 install, start8 and fences. but not anything I can see for GalCiv3. Is that normal? So any info on that as well would be helpful.

lastly, I have seen a lot of posts for issues with crashes from attacking/battles, is my issue the same and Stardock knows about it, or should I make a new post and ticket. Thanks :)!

Hi

Pretty much anytime you get a crash you should do a ticket, even if it is something you know they know about.   SD really does use your data to help track down the cause.

Lost of folks have had crash issues with battle (viewer) but yours sounds strange, include a save file with your ticket.  The following link has a lot of good info if you haven't seen it.
