Can only use small maps

Ran into a slight issue after the last update. I was able to play on any map size and even though the immense ones killed my RAM, But I could still play on at least large or gigantic. Well I got on last week, and I tried again today, but even though my computer has 4GB's of RAM, the game only lets me select tiny maps saying I need 3.5GB's of RAM and I only have 3.4GB's. I know my computer is not the best, but i have 350+ hours on this game and I would really hate not being able to play on a map other than tiny, so please if you guys could let players select any map, I don't care if it lags because usually it does not, but It sucks spawning in and there is 5 suns, 15 planets, and you search the whole map by turn 20. It really takes the sense of exploration, adventure, domination, and continuous play out of the game leaving it incredibly boring.

I would guess in the memory optimization something needs to be changed back for beta 6 update 2.

I've had the same issue. Once I updated to Update 6 it restricted my map selection to tiny only even though I'd been able to pick from the others before. It would be nice to be able to do that again. I can still enjoy the game with some lag. I rather enjoy the larger maps and being able to build sprawling empires (even if I'd never finish or try the top three large sizes just to be safe) and being only able to play on tiny would not be fun for me.

Even with the Opt-In for the recent patch (patch 1, yes?) on Friday (5/1/15) I know still have this restriction.

With the Opt In patch for 6.2 this is no longer an issue. Everything up to gigantic is available and only the top three maps are greyed out (which is to be expected). Thank you a whole heck of a lot devs!!
