[Faction-Mod] Alliance-Union universe custom races

custom made races based on great author C. J. Cherryh

Here is my small contribution as an appreciation to C.J.Cherryh.

 

Oxigen Factions

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Methane Factions

- currently methane-breathers do use synthetic setup as placeholder

- I'd really recommand to have those 3 methane factions in 1 team for better experience

- as tribute to author's original creation you may avoid any interactions with chaotic Knnn or crazy Chi   

- as soon as something like gas planets are playable, those factions get reworked

Yeah, thx. Well, not too easy to get a picture for a person out of a novel. Everybody has different view on it. So I combine what I could find here in forum or on the net. 

Only annoying duty is, how do I get those real alien races (methan breather aso.) in the game?

Only idea I currently have is to make them synthetics as Stardock really believes all alien races do live on paradise earth planets.

I might have missed it, but I do not see a logo for the Mri Tribe.

I took one of the origin ones that came with the game as I couldn't find any other fitting (3 parts, 2 of them shield the 3rd). I can't find it in the logo folder and it is used by minor faction in-game. If you can't find it, I'll try to snap it and do a new one.

 

Update:

Found the logo in the Steam/GC3 folder and altered the background color a bit to have it different to the minor race's ones. Will include it with next faction, but you could use this one for now:

Have to confess, that the Iduve are the first design not fully implemented as should be, but tried to come near. Reason is, they do live on their immense ships and see planets only as hunting grounds. Probably other mods or DLC will allow me to get them adopted later.

How come you dont add the faction files? That way we could have the factions the way you designed them and the files to make our own if we wish?

Forgive me if you have already explained this.

 

The faction files are availible...but for seperate download. Just hit the link at the name which you find underneath the pictures in first post. 

I wanted to seperate pictures and faction files because I thought not all might want to have factions flooding their game. Besides it is easier to alter the stats for later balancing.

- changed order of appearence to better fit regarding the books


Note:

as for patch 1.02, you are no longer able to play any modded factions in multiplayer instead you use those graphics given by Stardock; hopefully they'll fix this asap.


Edit - Response from Stardock:

Patch 1.02 breaks multiplayer for modded factions if you have any 'mod' files in your Mods folder. So deleting all mods get's you back to play modded factions.

Thx a lot....the 'Kif Hunters' do have a very shady portrait...you might have overlooked it. I defenetly played it today. Search for a dark monk's cowl with a crock snout. ^^
