Main Screen black on load

Hey all,

Having this his issue on reload of a game in which the main display is black.

The UI is fine, mini map visible and I can select a planet and go to planet screen.

In addition if I hover over something where it should be the tool tip still pops up. 

If I quit the game and reload (completely out not just to main menu) it seems to correct itself.

Anyome else had this?

Other issues:

- Resolving battles has jammed my game multiple times, especially if I zoom while it's happenimg. Just sits there withoit processing the attack.

- I couldn't talk to the drengin at any point in my curremt game without it crashing. So at war with them the whole time.

- If I quit out I have to wait a while to restart the game (It says it's still running) But maybe that's a steam thing? Anyway annoying especialpu because of the black screen load problem I have.

Tried updating gfx card drivers? Is your system overall on the edge - specs-wise? Otherwise I dunno, never had anything like that...

I updated te drivers not that long ago, but good reminder it's worth a double check.

system i think is ok:

I5 @2.67

8GB ram

Nvidia GTS 250 (needs upgrading but should still be fine)

I've run into this issue as well. It also would not correct itself without a complete exit.

 

A side issue, I can't exit the game a restart it, without having to completely shutdown and exit Steam. (even when it crashes on me)

I'm exactly the same weatherdown..  I often have to quit steam and load again to let me in again, or wait quite a while.

Been happening since 5.2.

i have been using custom graphics options in the game.. No bloom or AA or a few other things

So just had this happen in 6.0 with latest drivers. Exited to main menu, loaded a new game (immense) and the main map displqy was blank.

Just quit and went to bed so will check more tomorrow.

Good news is I had my first immense map actually load up! And quite quickly too.
