Colony ships remain in shipyard unlaunced

I've seen this happen a few times, where I have found colonizers still in the shipyard, some so far down the list they are inbetween scouts and explorers.  Based on my most recent game, I believe it is caused by loading an autosave on a turn that colonizers are built.  You get the pop up to retask the shipyard, but not the pop up to launch the colony ship.

On occasion I will look through my ship list to see if I have any colony ships lurking.  (Such as when I grab extreme colonizing, for example, or a new planet pops up that isn't colonized because the local AI don't have that tech.)    Once in a while there is one all right --- sitting in orbit doing nothing.   At the time I am usually happy to see it, but it is clearly a case of a colony ship spawning and sitting.   Perhaps some bright engineer was looking ahead for me?!   LoL.

I'll make a note for the devs. Thanks.

This has been a problem with every single version of GC.  Autosaves are taken after the ships are produced, but before they are launched.  So if you load an autosave after a crash, you have to go examine each and every world/shipyard to see if you had produced a ship that you wanted to be launched, and eject it yourself.  In earlier versions it would also leave planets that had finished a project idle, but at least in GC3 idle planets are brought to your attention.

Several of us suggested for GC1 and GC2 that the autosave be taken at the time the turn button was pressed, before any planetary or ship production, but this was never implemented.

I've had constructors jamming up on shipyards, as well.
