Where Carriers were the Over powered 500lb Gorilla, now its your new Command ship loaded with Sensors and Targeting/Jamming Electronics.
I have found that fleets with a custom Sensor ship (which I need Command or CmD Mk1) do FAR better than fleets without one. I will create a custom medium or Large hull and cram all the sensors into the one ship rather than have 2 or 3 small single module ships. These force multipliers are without a doubt something you want to beeline for in Age of War. I once I get Large hulls I will also install the Movement modules and the weapon dmg or range increase ones. These ships are actually more important that the special weapons ships which have the special weapons tied to their respective resource (anti-matter missiles).
Because these ships are SO important I found that racing around the Galaxy and dropping mining constructors on Thulium, Promethion, Elerium, and Antimatter is an ABSOLUTE must! Sensor/Command ships are a must have for fleets. I will forgo the stock ones as a custom one can have a more hit points a bit of armor and a weapon if it gets in too close.
A few observations outside this topic.
Life support needs a small fix. The first two modules cost the same mass and the 3rd is not a good enough increase to warrant its installation.
A minor race took away my resources AFTER I was mining them. I dont know the mechanic but it was several turns where I was mining it and then the resource flipped to the Minor race. I was so mad about this I DWC'd and destroyed his mining bases! Is this normal to be able to 'steal' already established mining resources from another player?
I was playing on Excessive and RARE on planet habitability. This was slightly 'too rare' but ok, maybe we should make uncommon setting slightly more rare and that seems it would be a good fit.
