My Patch 2 Feedback

Hi Guys ...

I have recognised some bugs in Beta 5.1 and 5.2 so far:

1. The Planet Resource for +5% Growth Empire Wide does not show up. Just cosmetical but sometimes a bit annoying. (Planetary Screen)

2. The Active Core Spec is not working. I looked on a few planets with that and it did not show up in the Manufacturing percentage. I can't measure Growth as I always play Synth.

3. Survey Ships colliding with a pirate Fleet sometimes cause trouble. The Bug is quite rare, but it occurs. Sometimes the Battel viewer (or Auto Resolve result) wont show up. Instead the ship stacks with the pirate fleet. If you have moves left you can decomission the Ship and save the Game. Otherwise the Game ends at this spot.

4. The Start Option for Invasions also does not work (Beta 5.1) Screen will turn Black.

5. On the AI trades it occurs that the money is not always the correct amount which solves the trade.

6. The Ai offers technologies for 75 credits sometimes.

And now not a bug but a concern... The Ram and Processor usage is still high. I crash frequently when I get to the end game (Spamming star bases like hell) . And when I look to my Ram usage its about 7 or more of 8 GB and the Processor (Quad i5 3550) runs at 70-80%. Map size is always huge with Minors and Majors.Please try to cut it down further ^^. I know i could go 16Gb but GC3 is the only Game which really uses more than that Ram...

Crashes also sometimes occur randomly but thats quite rare, but here i can't figure out if theres a specific reason causing the crash.

But the path you guys go with game look great ... ! And great improvements!

Which of these bugs are for beta 5 patch 2 [0.82.4.0]?  Also have you started a new game since the new patch was released and still have any of these issues?

BETA 5 PATCH 2

 

I have noticed a few gameplay bugs 

- Only Earth's moon will orbit the planet any other moon stays stationary

- I loaded a game back up and some of the explored space went back to unexplored space but I could still see the stars and planets and etc

- Shadows seem to be to bright from the planets (maybe my monitor settings but usually its pretty spot on)

- Planet names are under the planets (not sure if its meant to be that way) and shield icon, radiation icon etc seem to be very high above the planet and jump around in a glitchy fashion

- No way to get back to your star port after entering the ship designer you have to back all the way out and click back into the star port 

- Game continues to run after it is closed and have to manually force close it from the task manager

- Backgrounds and cinematic's edge pixels bleed across my other 2 screens (I know not a major worry as eyefinity isn't high on the priority but release is coming soon)

I also wanted to point out that a windowed tech screen and etc was much better then the current full screen (that was implemented in BETA 3 or 4) for users with multiple screens. I know a bulk of people don't have multiple screens yet but every day more do as its getting much cheaper these days as you can pick up a Radeon R9 270X and 3x21" 1080p screens for under $500 and have enough power to run almost any game in 5760x1080 in medium to high settings and can really help on the productive side of things by having multiple windows open and make it easier to work on many things at once.

 

Multiplayer bugs

- Game crashed while AI was making his turn

- game will hang and sometimes crash when starting next turn

- no way to close the chat window once someone types in it

- You can modify the planet building queue but unable to see the change until its your turn

 

Mulitplayer missing features

- No way to make a private game, a simple solution would be adding a password option 

- Hybrid turn option would be very nice but at least more control over things you can do to plan your next turn

- Notification when its your turn when you're on another screen like the ship designer and ability to minimize the ship designer without loosing your design when its your turn 

 

Will post screen shots when I get the chance and add more when I can think of them

rhys2k, I would recommend to create a support ticket on many of these issues and explain how they can be reproduced...

For support where examining saves is required, names of ships, planets and starbases, etc, are extremely helpful in their attempts to reproduce the issue.
