Bloody pirate anomaly bugs

I have seen this posted several times and it has happened to me twice.

When you colonize a planet and get the pirate warning on the same turn, the game freezes and you have to exit and restart. On the previous occasion I was able to avoid the freeze after reloading by stopping my surveyor until the colonization was completed.

As I posted elsewhere, the pirate anomaly is a neat little feature but it gets old after a few battles and it just become an auto-resolve click. If the feature is going to be in the final release, when there are real pirates in the game, maybe you might consider turning off the anomaly pirates after 40-50 turns. They are just a pain in the ass (no fun) to deal with throughout the entire game.

If they are not going to be included in the final release, if it were me, I would get rid of them in the next patch. When you consider all the bug reports on this item it doesn't seem worth it for a temporary feature.

If you need me to submit a ticket on this let me know. I am going to restart the game after this post so let me know if that will affect the dump or whatever I need to send.

Y'all are probably on this one already based on the number of posts I have seen on the problem.

A support ticket would always be appreciated for something like this.

Noticing the pirate anomaly crash/lockup doesn't seem to occur when you don't autoresolve.

Hardly a solution if you find the pirate fights boring, to be sure.

The only problem I have had is the issue of simultaneous colonization and anomaly battle. Other than that I can auto resolve or not, without a problem. This might seem like a unlikely occurrence but it has happened 3 times in my current game.

I buy a lot of AI surveyors, so I see how they behave differently. The only one that seems to work perfectly is the Terran. The Altarian never appears to be firing it's weapons. It always wins when it's hit points are over 50%, and it seems to take more damage than the others. This could be pure coincidence. Once you have seen how each performs, the outcome is foregone. Since the battles have no rock/paper/scissors aspect, you never lose if you have over 50% of your hit points. Of course, this also means that you have to manually operate your surveyors or you will soon lose them to the pirates, or on a massive map you will lose them to 100 turn worm holes :)

I depend on Surveyors a lot to keep my economy going in the early game, so I can't afford to lose them. Once I have the tech I can upgrade the Surveyors with a little more offense and defense and the pirates cease to be a problem.

As for the ticket, I have not wanted to lose my game so I have been restarting the game and playing on. I have no dump file since it is actually a freeze and not a crash. Since it has happened 3 times I guess support can find the freezes so I will start a ticket and send the file.

Well, I tried to submit a ticket and it tells me doesn't recognize my pass word. Do I have to register separately for support?

This is in regard to the anomaly pirate bug that causes a freeze when you colonize a planet and enter a pirate anomalie in the same turn. It is reproducible 100%.

Yes ticket area is separate login.  I think it makes sense.

I experienced the simultaneous colonization pirate anomaly in my current game and was able to get s good ticket on it, as well as work around by holding off my survey ship until the colony was done.   Personally, I want those anomaly pirates in there - but they should get tougher so that you need a better survey vessel once you get into the game.  Even as it stands, preventing a player from building defenseless survey vessels to grab extra goodies is a good thing.

But that's just me.
