Unable to research Universal translators.

It is marked as researched at the start of the game, but you cannot communicate with anyone (tells me I have to research UT)

I have a friend who told me the same while using a custom race with the Yor tech tree.

That's when I first noted it, was with a Yor-based custom.  I did, however confirm that it affects the standard Yor as well :(

Hi Guys,

this bug is currently present for both the Yor and the Krynn Tech-Trees. It will be fixed when 5.2 stops being an opt-in patch. If you want to see it fixed now, you could use the Bugfix mod. Changes will only affect new savegames though.
