Anomaly Pirates Causing Hangs for me

When I let my survey ships survey on their own, and they come across pirates during the AI turns, the game will almost always hang on me.  It doesn't matter if I choose to Auto-resolve, or Start battle, the game just goes into like a wait mode and says Idle Ship.  I can reload the last save, and manually use the survey ship to survey the anomaly, and proceed with the battle just fine.  It's only when I let the ships do the surveying on their own that I have this issue.

Thanks,

I have a similar issue only it's worse for me. seems to be if an unarmed survey ship has previously been defeated by pirates, any time I revisit that anomaly (either manually or automatically) I get the same issue. Idle ship greyed out in bottom right and game does not progress.

If it's an unvisited anomaly then I often (but not always) get the hang when auto exploring, but can usually restore an autosave and visit manually successfully

This is using the opt-in Beta on steam

If you have a saved game that will reproduce the problem, go read this and follow the instructions at the bottom to open a support ticket.  Describe the problem and attach the saved game.

i had a similar issue where i had the survey ship visit the anomaly and a colony ship visit a planet at the same time

i said yes to the enter battle then the colonize planet prompt popped and i said no

after this the battle did not commence and i could not order the survey ship to the anomaly

Same thing, but I went ahead and said yes and finished the colonization. My game was also locked after that. I restarted with an auto-save and salvaged the game but it was still irritating

With further experimenting, I have only had this happen once if I manually select the target for the survey fleet.  It will happen almost every time if I let the survey fleets pick their own.  It seems to have something to do with having multiple survey fleets selecting the same target.  The exploration and survey AI needs a lot of work.  After several turns, my survey fleets and explorers always pile on top of each other and go to the same targets.  Seems to be some missing "if/then" checks in the code, lol.

Not going to submit tickets and saves for this as it's so obvious I'm sure the Devs already know about it and are already fixing it.
