Can I upgrade from Beta to founder?

Good morning!!!  :)

I initially purchased the early release from Steam...  I did not, at the time realize that there was a founder's pack available...

Is it possible for me to upgrade?

I have no problem spending 99 for the founder, but I already spend money on the early access...

Thanks!!!  :)

I really don't  think that there will be an offer to sell the founders elite after all those complaining about sells. The thing is the founders package is expired for when you can get it.

I belive when the founders offer was available that was the only way you could buy it at the time so I doubt you where one of the first. When did you buy it?

There was a beta package at the same time as the founders package.  You actually got a forum badge for it.  I know because I went for that.  I wouldn't have gotten the Alpha.  Then Stardock let you upgrade to full Founders for a while, and I wised up and went for that.  That upgrade offer expired when the founder's offer expired.  At this point I suspect you were indeed part of the early release and not part of the initial Beta-only founders package that could have been upgraded.

If I were you I would talk to SD. They are very accommodating and it costs nothing to try. Everyone's story is unique and in the end it can only be a matter of pushing a few buttons.

The elite founders offer ended last year and is no longer available, sorry.

Ok another question: I bought the Steam version, not sure if it was founders (would of bought that if I knew!) or just the Beta access version, however how in the world do I link this purchase to my forum account? I don't get any key code through steam...

Ok we are talking about a year ago. When did you buy the game. I bought it in october of 2013. I was probably one of the first.

The elite founders' edition cost $99, granted alpha access, all future DLC, and required registration to your Stardock account when you ran the game. Once the beta came out, the registration requirement was dropped, along with the price.

There were a few folks who bought the founders' edition but never actually ran the game. It is too late by now for some of the benefits, but if you did this you can open a  support ticket to try and get your forum badge at least, and make sure things are in order to get the DLC later (though I think that part is all on the Steam end).

Pondered how I would figure out when I actually bought the game, but Stardock.com keeps good records, and my account info says it was the Galactic Civilizations III: Founder's Elite Edition on 15 Oct 2013.

Sounds like you got the Founders edition; not the Elite Founders edition.

Thanks for reading Stardock :)

I wish Stardock would keep the $99 buy everything including the future at once option beyond pre-orders.  In this age of nickel-and-diming DLC (looking at you, Netherrealm), it's a refreshingly honest change-of-pace.  To me, it's the most ethical way of doing things- just give one price for the game, whatever it is.

I like it was a special deal for those who could recognize the potential.

I respect that decision, and I obviously took advantage of it, but I just feel on principle that more games should offer that option.

If it needs to be a special deal, make it a lower price for the initial founders, and make it $109 or $119 later.  I view the EA phase as worthwhile in itself.

I'm sure there will be small bundle deals in the future at some point.  Not Day 1, no.  But six months, tweleve months on?  I'd be surprised if there wasn't some sort of bundles as time goes on.

Just not the Everything Buffet.  That probably wouldn't happen until 2023 or so. :p
