Colonize!

I've spent a lot of time playing GalCiv II and I was glad when I heard that GalCiv III was in development.  I've had beta 4 now for a few weeks and I must say that it is light years ahead of it's predecessor and much more fun to play even in it's buggy, beta state.

I play the game to colonize, I choose less aggressive opponents and play the game as race to colonize.  I have great resources in my computer so the larger and more complex the galaxy is the better I like it, the "Insane" galaxy size will still be puny and barely playable in my estimation :) .  I would really like to see much better information when a the colonizing event dialog comes up.  I'd like to clearly see the planet that the dialog is tied to, it's location in the galaxy, what the planet's class is, what it's resources are and I'd love the option of setting the initial colony location.  It would also be fun to be able to rename the system when I colonize the first planet in the system or to rename systems or not as I wish.  I liked the ease of setting up my own list of star names in GalCiv II and wish I had the option in III, if it's there I don't see it.

Keep up the good work team!  I've been having a lot of fun!

I have to concede with 300+ hrs played I guess I must have had some fun somewhere.   Kind of reminds me, in an opposite way of course, of so many people, especially for MMOs, who would play a game for a 1,000 hrs and then complain the game wasn't any fun and they deserved a refund.

Last week I played an immense game and I think I hit the "graphic objects cap" they refer to in the changelog for B5 around turn 200, with about 20 hrs in the game.   I was about launch a massive assault on my favorite target, the Drengin.   So I thought to myself, shouldn't I be really mad as heck?!   But here's the funny thing...I wasn't.   (And I have been with other games, believe me.)   I just  wanted to get to the next release!

So I have to wonder, is stardock somehow transmitting some evil substance in their electronic transmissions to addict people beyond all reason?   Shouldn't there be an investigation?!

No,no, don't waste time on that, just give me my next fix!!!
