Hello All,
i wish i could remove karma for this
Likewise for a comment like that...Maybe you should find out WHY a person is not submitting a ticket first. Don't assume it is just because they are being difficult.
The better question, is HOW do you submit tickets when it returns BS like this:
"We encountered a problem (cross-site request forgery detected); please try again)
Sorry, we encountered a problem (invalid department). Please start over."
In IE. When you try to use chrome, it doesn't even advance. This is a freshly installed computer that works with everything else, so clearly the game is not the only thing with issues...
I mean seriously?
It does not indicate that you have to log in to submit a ticket, but that wouldn't matter, because it returns the same error regardless of if you are logged in and you lose the contents of your comment field.
They don't unify the user databases, so you have to register AGAIN instead of it just using your forum credentials.
Even after registering for the help desk, and resubmitting everything, it still returns the same error. I have about 20 years of IT experience, and a degreed background in both programming and electronics engineering. If I am having issues with their support system, then so are many other people. How are you supposed to provide feedback on a beta when the support system is not much better than beta? My current only option is to complain about it in the forum. If I could even just freaking email the support ticket...that would be something...
I get that people have been able to submit support tickets, but there doesn't seem to be any information on how to submit a ticket for the broken support ticket system
As for comments about not letting them look at the problem....give me a break. It has been beta for around a year and is behind schedule. I am still having the exact same problems I saw last year when I only had the crappy old vid card I mentioned. These same issues should not still be here a year later with a brand new top end card. They are still charging a premium rate for this game even though it is in Beta. If we are doing the testing, and have to troubleshoot it with the developers, the price should never have gone over $10 until it hit release, or they should have fixed the major issues by now.
Let us use the car analogy...I brought my wife's car to the dealership after a 3000 mile trip to verify everything was good to go to return on that 3000 mile trip. I was told it wouldn't make it 200 miles to the border because it was "leaking so badly" and would need $5000 in repairs. I drove it the 3000 miles back afterwards and only had to put gas in the car. It was inspected and sold to the assistant to a state governor. I called up the dealership and asked them about the "200 miles max" and they said they would need me to bring the car back to them for them to look at it and verify it. Kind of hard to do after it was driven the 2800 more miles than they said it would and passed a full inspection...
My point is showing the developers the problem doesn't help much if it doesn't get fixed in a reasonable time frame for a reasonable commitment of resources. I really dislike paying good money and not getting appropriate support. Gal Civ 3 should be at release at this point, and if not, it should at least be able to finish a game on it's max settings even if it crashes a lot to do so. I obviously like the game if I am here complaining about not being able to play it based on issues that people were complaining about a year ago and still are....
