Black, Freeze, Grey

I used Task Manager to make the dump.

When I start the game without rebooting I get black screen and a flash.

rclick on screen gives me grey and the option to close the program.

I tried to send it using a ticket but did not take.

You can't upload a dmp file.   You have to host it (dropbox) and post a link in the ticket.   Otherwise you get a weird error.

If you already knew that, sorry.

The SDSupportTool will gather what is needed from the dump file and other important information and put it all into a zip file that can be sent with a ticket. For more information, see the pinned post in the Galciv3 support subforum "GalCiv III Support FAQ".

Right you are..but...

there are some of us that apparently cannot use the SupportTool.    Click "generate" and get an exception error.    Been around the block about 50 times trying to figure this out;  reinstalling .net framework, backing it up to verision 4.0, etc., reinstalling 4.5.2, running the Dotnet tool, yada, yada, yada.    It still doesn't work.   And it's funny because it worked fine for me right up to Beta 4 (just about the same I time I reinstalled Windows, I might add --- which you would think would make it better, with all the updates).

So I send the dmp file "by hand".

SDSupportTool gathers a lot more than just dump file information. Have you been in contact with the SD devs about this problem?

I believe the error is mostly down to the size of the file being uploaded.  I think anything near or over 20 megs gives it.  At least for me.

What I've taken to doing is strip out the save file or dump file from the zipped log file that is generated and send those other files separately.  I do this by replying to the ticket thread that is generated by my initial request with the files that I stripped out of the log file.  A bit of a PITA, but it's allowed me to upload several files, one post to the ticket thread at a time.

Bamdorf, have you tried splitting the SDSupportTool output file into two or more zip files and appending them a "reply" at a time to the ticket? If the problem is the transmitted volume of data, this should work as a work around, and the SD Support devs should be advised of the problem.

No, the problem is that when I click "generate files" I immediately get an exception.   I can choose to continue, but it never finishes (well, half hour isn't enough, lol).   And it is so weird becaues I used it with no problem earlier.
