Poor route movement

When you select a unit and click its destination, it does not move in a straight line.  It may be looking for the shortest (least movement points) route and usually does a good job of finding it.  However there are many times when the path between start and end has no intervening tiles with movement penalties; as shown in the picture below.  Most of the time this is no big deal, however when you are trying to uncover the FOW and you unit takes a detour for no reason it can be a pain.  I have seen it "zig-zag" from what should be a straight line by  as many as 3 tiles causing  me to back track.

Not a super big deal but it can piss off the player  :( . Suggest the router should only deviate from a straight line when it saves movement points

Further the path finding should take into account all these "allies" who are blocking the road. When you want to move a unit from point A to point B and one of these "allies" stands on the route shown, the unit cannot move further until either the allied unit is gone or the player has manually moved the unit around the allied unit.

Therefore I propose a spell called KILL ALLied unit standing in the way. Or alternatively make it possible for allied units to stand on the same tile. I think that LH do not have the same ridicolous path finding problem.

Don't know if you watched the stream so FYI... SD did acknowledge  this (allies blocking roads) and is fixing the problem.

I havent had time to watch the last two streams. But if the acknowledge the problem it is nice. Just hope it will be included in Beta 5 this month.

Just wanted to show how bad it can be marked with the red squares.

In this screenshot I decided to build a road network just so my allies could go to the SK and get sacrificed instead of standing idle, blocking MY roads. F

From this screenshot you can also my army wanting to move past the wraiths (illustrated with the green dots), but because the wraiths are very aggressive my puny hero Varda does not dare go near these spooky things. Therefore I have to manually move around them. Further the path finding algorithm does not know the fear of my units and hence just calculate an optimal route without regard for my units well-being, sigh. At least if the path finding algorithm could take into account that the allied units wont share a tile with me, and therefore make a route around them, it would not be such a big problem. Right now you must micromanage you unit, if you want your unit to move a long distance due to the unit getting stuck behind one of the allied units.

The picture is stored on my G-drive, and I deleted the picture there believing that picture was saved in the post above on the forum servers. That is apparantly not the case, so I have restored the picture on my G-drive. Should be working now.

images from Google drive don't display right. It needs to be linked directly to an image.
