New hardware and some observations.

So I upgraded some parts on my system. I got a Samsung Evo850 SSD (500GIG), Bumped up to 16 gigs of Ram (Gskill 2400) and upgraded Video card from GTX 670 to GTX 970.

I did a complete new install of windows and put steam on the 1 terrabyte platter drive and installed the 'steam library' (for GCIII) on the SSD. I also set my page file to 'disabled' this time around catching a blurb here about this person having no issues when he did this and also had 16 gigs of Ram.

I fired up the game and started an Immense sized game. All my ship designs are gone. This is not an issue as we are in Beta and I had dozens of duplicate ships and this time around i am going to make 'templets' for my ships.  I only got about 10 turns in and will give the game a hard play this weekend. So far so good.

Just thought I would post some hardware observations. Ill update on how the game now plays as its on an SDD and I am now using no Page file and have a video card with 4 gigs ram instead of 2.

I realize it would have been a lot of work to test each change independently but the results would be interesting.  I suspect the memory upgrade would do the most good. What were your issues with Immense before the upgrade?

LOL, I just bought a GTX970 SSC yesterday (upgrading from a GTX570) and it will be here today... I didn't get it for GalCiv3 but for a flight sim I play. I've had 16gb of ram for the last 2+ years with no page file and have never noticed issues from it. I also just did a long overdue reinstall of the OS and am loving the new snappiness in response from a clean streamlined system again. I think you'll be quite happy with your new setup Laresenex, and look forward to hearing about your new found joy. 😀

I had issues trying to load Immense PRIOR to upgrade and PRIOR to creating the page file to 6 gigs.

Now I have zero page file and it is very snappy. Game loads fast and no issues so far. I am going to play out my immense this weekend.

I got the new card for GC III and I am thinking about investing and picking up Star Citizen but that also requires more flight-sim hardware..

Anyone here got some experience with Star Citizen?
