Diplomacy options, I know they are planned...

I always..ALWAYS loved manipulating everyone as the Terrans. Its just so 'behind the scenes' I am sure these are planned but what I am looking for...

  • Hey Ill give you XXX if you declare war on (This guy).
  • Hey, Ill give you XXX if you ask for Peace with (This guy).
  • Hey, Ill give you XXX if you initiate trade sanctions on (This guy).
  • How about we supply ships to (This guy).
  • I want you to trade with (This guy).
  • Lets both go to war or attack (Darca).
  • Hey Ill give you XXX if you Pillage/raid (Darca's) trade routes.

That's the gist of some of the things I know we will have but just wanted to put in writing and on the table. Id also like diplomacy leanings to be improved or degraded based on trades with that Civilization/Race.

Can anyone think of some more diplomo options that are obvious that I am not 'seeing' or listing?

Happy Thursday.

I can't even find the, "Hey, let's stop fighting" option....

If you are at War with that Civ, you go to the regular table. At top left on  YOUR side is 'Peace Treaty' It causes a cessation of all hostilities. In some cases I can get a TON of stuff for it, in others I have to add it and a ton of stuff to get the AI to accept it.

Then the ai breaks it the next turn. There ought to be some minimum time delay before being able to declare war again, or, at least a heavy diplomatic penalty with all the other races for breaking a peace treaty too soon.

I was not aware the AI will go and break the agreement next turn.

In fact all cash for this over time agreements and peace treaties 'should' have a minimum time place on them just like in Civ 5. Peace treaty? All cessation of hostilities for 50 turns.

15 credits per turn for Beams? Ok 25 turn or 20 turns.

Culture treaty? 25 turns..

All of the above cannot be broken except in war. Peace treaties cannot be broken all via hostilities. If you break a trade agreement then there 'should' be a refund back to you or AI for rest so the Human does not abuse it as a system of ill give you 5 per turn for 25 turns and you break it next turn. Or  you can but it auto declares war...

I never did like the time limits on treaties in Civ 5.

It either creates the micromanagement of periodically renewing them, or the artificiality of the impossibility of a treaty backstab.

I'd rather the AI just generally be more likely to honor treaties with parties it otherwise has good relations with. Or create a 'cease fire' treaty that is a prerequisite to the peace treaty, that is easier to break.

I don't like the time limited treaties either.  I'd prefer permanent treaties with the option to break them.

I want an easy way to see who has which ideology, and who is at war with whom. I am sure this will come some day, but sooner would be better than later.

The problem with the artificial time limits is that the most likely person to abuse them is the player. If you get peace from the Yor and sell your empire to get it wouldn't you be a bit frustrated if the Yor simply attacked you NEXT turn instead of having to wait say 15-20 turns so you could crank out new ships?

I too would really like to see the things that the OP mentions as well as an easy way to find out who is at war with who, I might want to influence things!  The same goes for being influenced, a sign of a good ai when it comes to diplomacy is thinking about these kinds of things & quietly propping up the cat's paws you use to poke your enemies in the eye with rather than always doing ityourself, that goes double for helping your useful allies if they are threatened in the wrong ways & pulling their leashes if they get a bit too uppity towards the wrong folks.... granted that last bit might be too much for now, but putting a thumb of a scale when you have an interest in in fight is different.
