Laptop Mouse Support

I am finding many mouse issues with running GalCiv 3 on a laptop.

The support for the built in trackpad/mouse is limited. Specifically I keep running into issues with the middle or third mouse button functions. It will occasionally zoom in and out but usually it causes the game to consume 100% CPU and stop responding.

There is no support for rotating objects. No button combination allows for the built-in mouse to allow for rotating objects/ships.

Hope there is a plan to fix this.

Buy a mouse, it makes playing easier for my laptop. The games store page will also likely say it requires one after this post...

I get your point though, 100%CPU is a bug.

100%CPU is a bug.
End of DARCA1213's quote

That depends what processor do you have? Maybe your computer really can't handle the game or is barely able to handle it.

Now mind you I have a high end AMD processor FX 9370 8 core and I range from 25-45% cpu usage.

My i7 4770 seldom exceeds 40% under normal game play (not running into a bug, for instance), but as I read the original post, it sounds like Leebo66 is saying that the game causes the CPU usage to jump to 100% when he tries to use the trackpad button 3 features and the game stalls there.

Leebo66, have you opened a ticket with Stardock yet?

Thanks Lucky Jack you are correct. They game plays fine with little CPU usage overall, ~40% but freezes and spikes ONLY when I try to use the 3rd mouse button on the laptop trackpad.

DARCA, you miss my point as a external mouse is not desired. I play with a high end laptop so I can be mobile, like sitting on the couch and trying to use an external mouse there is just not possible.

GalCiv 1 and 2 worked just fine with a laptop trackpad, not sure why 3 can't make the grade.

I'm going to have someone look at your post and see what's going on if possible. Thanks for reporting.
