Steam Overlay?

Some testing I have done over the past 2-3 days suggests that the Steam Overlay may be related to UI freezes in GalCiv 3.

Anyone else see this behavior?

Ah, well, no replies and I finally this morning had a UI freeze with the Steam Overlay off.

So I guess I will chalk my testing up to coincidences and keep looking for what might be going on.

And/or wait for the next update and see what happens.

Putting together peices I have read makes me think it is some how related to Direct Draw and video cards use of it.

I got it while pressing the next turn button, IIRC.

Managed to finish an influence game --- it required 95% influence...I guess that should be tweaked!

Medium galaxy max opponents, only had a couple more freeze ups.    Mine seem to occur when a new prompt shows up in the lower right corner, like "research", and I thien find I can no longer interact with the program.   I am running autosaves at 2 turns so its not too much of an issue at this point.
