Multiplayer Hot-Seat

I second Speedy2511's suggestion. (2511? There goes the immersion.)

Multi-player hotseat is the only way I can get my wife or girlfriend to play.

I concur.

Many happy hours were spent with Heroes 3 and hotseat, sometimes with as many as a dozen players at once.

We rarely completed a game, but good times were had.

On a more recent note, my buddy and I have frequently discussed the inherent virtues of such a feature.

I call this, "the Jackpot".

I also support hotseat multiplayer, as do a lot of my friends who are MOO2 veterans. I am more amenable to buying 4X titles without it (and have been sadly disappointed with lots of them the last years, to be honest), but for them it is a vital feature which determines if they even will give a new 4X title a second look.

I think the developers still underestimate the snowball effect of the people who care enough about the feature to post on this forum. If hotseat is included in GalCiv3, people like me will tell their 4X veteran friends about it and, if the game is good, there is a much higher chance that they will buy it, thus reaching the audience of veterans who still yearn for a new title to take up the flag Master of Orion 2 has held up for so long.

Yes please have this feature.  I have this feature in other games like AOW, MOO as well as others. I primarily use this feature to play more than one race/nation at a time. For me that is fun.  In fact in AOW3  (as well as the others before) when I play SP I usually play in Hotseat mode with two to three races.  As far as I'm concerned all TBS 4x games should have a Hotseat mode. 

I would prefer the Hotseatmode too.

I want a good PBEM mode too.  With work, kids, etc.  it's difficult for my friends and I to all be available at the same time for the length of a game.  We still play Alpha Centauri via PBEM.

Please add Hot Seat! My son and I love to play that way.

Do I want it? Yes

Will it be added? Probably not even in an expansion.

they have said in the dev stream that they currently dont have plans for hotseat however if the community is very vocal about it they may revisit that decision

I don't care for hotseat myself.  The idea that my opponent is looking over my shoulder as I plot and plan just gives me the shivers.  However, I have family and friends that love it.  Occasionally they talk me into it and we end up having a very good time.  One of them has tried to teach me cooperative play, us two against the AI.  I can't say it feels right, someone on the board I can't attack at will. 

If they had computers that would run it, I would buy a copy of GC3.  (I did buy GC2 for one machine.  It runs, but it has to have graphics on minimum.)  As it is, if the devs did put in hot seat, my family would talk me into using it with them.

 My vote for hotseat multiplayer as well. If you already have PBEM mode, there is no good reason not to implement hotseat multiplayer.
