It would be nice if there was somewhere within a selected ship's display that gave how much of a fleet's logistic allotment the selected ship would need, sort of a "logistics cost".
Well, you can build a second one, put them both together in a fleet and divide the log total of the fleet to get it. If you build a different type, add it to a fleet of know cost and note the change to get the cost for the new type of ship. I think each level basically uses the same across all types, small is 4, medium 6 and I think large is 8.
I agree with Lucky Jack, it would be a better UI design to let you know ahead of time.
