Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.
I've played about 3 or 4 games on Huge maps since Beta 2, two with all but turn-based victory options enabled and two with only Conquest, Alliance, and Cultural. It seems to me that the AI always goes for a non-conquest victory in these circumstances, considering in all three games I did not research any military technology or even build a single military ship. Even when it became very clear that I would win a cultural, technological, or ascension victory, the AI would not attack.
If the AI does not attack I have no motivation to create a military and respond in kind, which kind of just turns the game into a next-turn-spree until I get a culture or tech victory. I'm not sure what factors might cause the AI to act this way, but I'm suspecting that it is either the victory conditions or size of the map (due to range of ships). I am about to start a game with only conquest victory enabled to test this theory.
Any thoughts?
EDIT: Forgot to mention that all races are enabled, no teams, and all have either Genius or Godlike (because anything less is just too easy... at least in Beta 1)
