[Bug][Beta 0.50] Altarian and Dregin tech issues

As was the case in Beta 1, Beta 2 continues to have these two problems:

Dregin manufacturing buildings have much lower percentage production bonus compared to other races. It's not a balance issue, as it appears they simply missed the "buff boat".

Altarians cannot progress up the Approval building chain because Enjoyment does not include the second building in that chain.

I see these as "XML typo" class bugs, rather than engine/guts changes (code, font, etc).

  • Pushing code changes is tough (and requires a major build and d/l).  That's what Beta 2-411098 must be.
  • Pushing new XML is easy.  That's a hotfix patch, which they can do any time.

They surely have a batch of XML fixes ready to go, but first they wanted us to find major crash bugs.  Like launching a colonizer :) ok, we found one

I can maybe agree with Stardock's fix-strategy.  It could be wise to ship a new code engine with the old (unfixed) XML, just so that we're not debugging two new things at the same time.  Let's hunt down major show-stoppers (crashes) in the Beta 2 code base.  After that's stable enough to play, then they can push new XML.

 

Meanwhile, you can just mod your own tech tree XML file to fix Enjoyment ;)  It's an obvious tweak to 1 line, IIRC edit "Enjoyment" to "EnjoymentTech".

There are too many missing buildings to go after them, where a tech gives nothing when it should. Too many to list them, but for example the Omega Research center is missing for the Altarians, while Krynn had it, and the Terraforming is just imbalanced. The Krynn could build dozens of ultra terraformers, while Altarian's first improvement (the fan) can be built only once and it is still worse than basic habitat improvement. For Krynn the Tourism part was missing completely. So yeah, these stuffs must be definitely fixed soon, because these alters the whole pre-planned building gameplay. :S (Plus one-per planet, one-per-civ should still be indicated)
