I think with all the other things they got going (dev streams, beta updates, etc) they feel that they don't need to worry with the vault anymore.

I rather have dev streams then the vault. With streams I get lots of good info and hear answers to questions.

Vault's done since they just give the info publicly now.  Vaults are before a game is officially announced.

They could still use the vault to show some things that were discarded or got cut , would be cool. under the sausage factory motto. 

 

and those feedback documents were pretty cool too, don't see any particular reason why they can't do those anymore.

I think sadly it's become apparent that the vault has been abandoned. Still never mind long live the game.
